ELECTROENCEPHALOGRAPHY UNIT

The objective of the unit is to examine the electrical activities of the brain and serve
as a training facility for trainee psychiatrist. The Unit has a modern computerized
Electro-encephalography (EEG) machine which assists in this regard and has a
consultant neurologist and an EEG technician to man the equipment.
E.E.G. is indicated in conditions such as
Severe headaches,
Migraine,
Seizures
Head injury,
Coma and unconsciousness etc.
The unit receives referrals trom witnin and outside the hospital, as far as Shagamu.
